I thinks it's great that Kenny is as young (no pun intended) as he is and can still manage to have such a flourished career regardless of what type of label he is on and what budget they seem to have... he still has his experience and the ability to write and to sing, and that alone is probably worth more than any signing bonus or advance a record company can dish out.

K YOUNG GETS THE HOOK UP ON NEW ALBUM
K Young might not be such a familiar name to music lovers, but you have certain to have been touched by his talent. The 19 year-old Inglewood, Calif. native has written for this likes of Brandy, Yolanda Adams, Ginuwine, Omarion and others. Now, K Young is shining on his own with a new album called, Learn How to Love, his solo debut. He signed to Treacherous Records after friend Raven Simone introduced him to the label’s CEO.
He said that his album has a late addition. “I just got back from doing a song with [“Lean Back” producer] Scott Storch. It was incredible and, as big as he is right now, he was really down to earth,” Young told BET.com. “Since I am on a an independent label we don’t have a big budget to start off with, but Scott Storch has been following my music and gave me one of his hottest tracks and told me to do what I am going to do.”
K Young says he worked under the tutelage of super producer Rodney Jerkins for a number of years before striking out on his own. Still, he said he natural talent comes much closer to home.
“My family has a strong background. They all do music my mom has been apart of every church that I have grown up in. As far as being in the choir and making sure that I am apart of it,” he said. “My sister got me involved in writing, they way she put her stories together made me want to learn how to write. She wrote seven songs on Brandy’s Full Moon album me and also wrote “Aphrodisiac” on Brandy’s last album.”
